Neil Brennan
CEO Central Highland Regional Water Authority (CHRWA) |
Michael Lyon
Managing Director Becton Dickinson (BDANZ) |
|
CHRWA is a regional water utility in
Victoria with annual revenues of $50 million, servicing 94,000
households, and 47,500 industrial accounts. Water reforms in Victoria
have challenged CHW to increase its services to the community whilst
complying with strict corporate governance requirements. These reforms,
coupled with the need to improve services set against tough cost constraints
have been very challenging
|
BDANZ is a subsidiary of Becton Dickinson,
a Fortune 500 company with sales of US $5 Billion and 40 subsidiaries
worldwide. BD is the pre-eminent provider of medical devices and technology
and has the majority share in each of its market segments. Challenged
by corporate management to produce double digit, profitable, revenue
growth meant the company had become even more sharply focused on effectively
executing its strategy. It was going to be very tough.
|
| What do Central Highland and BD have in common? | |
|
Apart from strong CEOs who are successfully dealing with massive change in a very demanding environment - both companies had chosen to implement an automated system for real-time management and monitoring of strategic performance. But that is where the similarities end, because BD needed to develop ways to respond to corporate imperatives to grow revenues in an already-crowded market. While CHRWA's challenge was to comply with the complex new corporate governance and social imperatives under the State Government of Victoria "Our Water, Our Future" initiative. How have these two companies been successful executing their strategy, and in achieving their objectives? The results speak for themselves - please contact ASVP Group for further information. |
